Exciting news for 2017, CTIA Super Mobility will become GSMA Mobile World Congress Americas, in partnership with CTIA. The GSMA and CTIA will host the first MWC Americas event in San Francisco, September 12-14, 2017!
Highlights from the show are pictured below. Rather than post pics of the massive Samsung, Verizon, AT&T or Ericcson exhibits, I focus on the start ups and entrepreneurs . . . and nI was hoping to see the iPhone 7, but was disappointed. At least Samsung had the Galaxy Edge 7S and a very knowledgeable booth staff.
I was excited to be able to watch the Pitch Fest competition during CTIA and listened to 5 companies give a 5-minute presentation (including Q&A) to judges and potential investors. My favorites were Outfield and Karmies! I had the opportunity of spending a little time with their CEOs and learn more about their companies.
Meet Megan Haines, CEO of Karmies. The Karmies platform allows users to send and receive interactive custom emojis containing fun, useful features.
Meet Austin Rolling, CEO of Outfield app. Outfield makes it easy to discover valuable insights about your market, track + verify team activity, and communicate effortlessly across all your devices. Claims that it's the "Workflow Happiness for Outside Sales".
Autel Robotics demonstrating their X-Star Premium drone in the drones area of CTIA in partnership with Interdrone.
I thought this was a pretty cool looking exhibit. Mobilitie, a complete wireless infrastructure solutions provider include funding, designing, building, operating and maintaining neutral host outdoor and indoor DAS networks, Small Cells, Wi-Fi networks and communication towers. Basically, they make sure that we're able to use our Cell phones wherever we are. Check out their all white ice age looking exhibit:
Thursday's Keynote Speaker: John Legend, Oscar Winner, Singer, Songwriter, Executive Producer/Producer, Actor, Husband, Father, Philanthropist, Entrepreneur and Activist. Tradeshow Tips:
1. Make sure you scan your attendee's badge before handing them a giveaway. It's the least they can do if they don't have time to speak to you.
2. Lead Retrievals are great for capturing everyone that comes by your booth and building your database, so make sure you scan everyone and follow up after the show.
