The Battle of Skincare Brands
I was invited to a Rodan+Fields conference last weekend by my sister's friend and I decided to check it out. It was at the MGM conference center and I am told there were at least 15,000 R+F consultants in Vegas. If you don't know who they are, more than likely you probably don't have a lot of girl friends, or you don't really care for, or think about skincare much. True or False? I mean starting in the 90's, I've been approached by Beauty Control, Avon, Mary Kay, Arbonne, Aloette, Zija, (recently) R+F, Beauty Counter & Acti Labs consultants, who were either my girl friends or my girl friend's friends. I've tried them all!! I'm a true product junkie. I don't do Botox, Juvederm or plastic surgery (yet), so I rely on good skincare.
Well I had an awesome time at the R+F conference. I didn't realize how big their reach was (I hear that they're launching in Australia soon). They had a set up inside the conference center and outside. Complimentary white paper machete umbrellas were given for the outside exhibit. There, they had white lounge seating areas, bars, interviews, pictures of their top performers, signature wall, photo booths and Lexus cars. I think you have to sell in the 6 digits per week in order to earn a car.
Check out my interview with Rosemary, consultant for R+F:

I was impressed with the inside set up as well. Large fabric banners & signage, mood lighting, cool pop music blaring on the speakers, makeover counters, iPad sales counters, Instagram photo opps counter, info counters and a center area draped in white vertical string of crystal beads with white theater lounge seating for Audio Visual presentations. Definitely had a feel of a party. There were women everywhere! I'm told about 80% of consultants are women and 20% men. I mean the skincare is unisex, so why not? Men need it too. I got some samples from Rosemary, and to read my review on the eye cream go to my FB page @Tradeshowlife. They are the most expensive of the 3 brands I'm writing about today. The other skincare brands that I recently checked out are Beauty Counter and Acti Labs.
Here's a quick summary on the 2 brands:
1. Beauty Counter - To learn more about Beauty Counter please go to my friend, Charita's website, and she can tell you all about it.
2. Acti Labs - is the least expensive of the 3 brands. This includes the product, and investment to become a consultant. However, don't let that fool you. Read about the product and ingredients. It is made in Paris France, cruelty free, paraben free and so much more.
I am in love with this product! Not only do I love the packaging, but I love the logo too. I think they have a home run with their branding. The Eiffel Tower is the A in Acti and purple is 1 of my 2 favorite colors. The kits are so affordable at $45, $70 & $120. What?
While you're in Vegas, be sure to visit these restaurants! You will NOT be sorry:
1. District 1 - best oxtail soup in town!
2. Rose.Rabbit.Lie. - wonderful atmosphere, awesome entertainment, amazing time with friends. Speakeasy bar attached. A must go.
3. Sushi Way - best local neighborhood freshest all you can eat sushi.
